Religious Formation

Religious Formation

One of the primary things we do as a parish is to help parents in their role as the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith—the way of discipleship. We believe that Catholic Schools are the best way we know of to help parents form their children in the ways of faith. It’s the best way we know of to help teach the Gospel values of Jesus to children. Everything we do at school—from academics to sports to any extracurricular activities—has, as its ultimate focus, helping to form children in the ways of Jesus, helping them to develop the values of the gospel, the values that bring true life. The real value of Catholic schools is that it is a total atmosphere in which children are immersed in a way of life, a way of being, and a way of looking at the world that is based upon the teachings of Jesus.

Specific religious formation for children in our school involves several things. Each week children attend Mass.  Throughout the year, special prayer times and Mass are celebrated for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Beginning of the School Year and End of the School Year Services, Prayer Partner Mass, Grandparent Days, Catholic School Week Celebration. . Dates and times for these celebrations are included in the school calendar and Red Folder News. Parents, relatives and friends are always invited to join us for these prayer times.     During the Seasons of Advent and Lent, each class has the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
